Can a non surgical rhinoplasty make your nose smaller?

If you’re looking to make your nose smaller without going under the knife is a non surgical rhinoplasty appropriate?

While a non surgical approach can change the shape or your nose its first necessary to understand what the procedure in to understand its limitations.

What is a non surgical rhinoplasty?

A non surgical rhinoplasty. Non surgical nose job or liquid nose job is a procedure where fillers are injected into the nose in order to change the shape. Because it involves injecting filler (usually hyaluronic acid) it can only ADD to the nose. This contrasts with a surgical nose job which can remove material from the nose and make it smaller.

However, it can be used to straighten and camouflage bumps. It can also be used to add volume to a flat nasal bridge which makes the nose appear slimmer.

A comparative image of a patient before (left) and after (right). The relatively flat nasal bridge has been given volume in order to make the nose bridge appear slimmer.

So although it can make a nose appear more in proportion to the face and smooth out harsh curves, it can’t truly make it smaller. With that said injecting filler under the nose cane lift the tip and make it less downturned. This means it can be used to make your nose more attractive to you by approaching a shape you prefer.

What is often overlooked is the other facial features that are viewed in comparison with the nose. Considering the size of the chin and lips is also very important to consider in ensuring the nose appears harmonised and balanced in relation to other features. Here’s a video with some before and afters of correcting other features on people who appear to have large noses when they in fact have small chins.
